Socialization Mask
Reflective question
The subject that I personally felt the most growth in as a person and a student was humanities. I learned how to actually care about a class and be engaged. I feel that class truly taught me what the difference was between beautiful work and just doing barley enough to get by. Stephen would often deliberate a lot about what beautiful work is. I think I really found out what beautiful work was during the mask project. I spent lots of time on my design and I went through many stages of refinement. My mask showed me that I can really produce beautiful work. I feel the class really brought out my true self and showed me that I have the potential to be a great student and a greater person. I learned how to look at the world from a different angle. It opened me up to relevant events that we are dealing with in today's world and how we can portray them in an educational way. Humanities made me look at the world in a different way, a world of socialization and unknowing change. I didn’t just have a lot of self growth, but my grades also improved by tons. My GPA has increased since last year which was a 2.2 compared to this year which is 3.6. I feel that the community of excellence has really been reflecting on my grades. I also feel myself growth that came from humanities showed in my other classes. In physics during the rube Goldberg project I showed a great deal of refinement and hard work that a year ago wouldn’t have come from me. A year ago I didn’t care about school nor how it would affect my future. The warm welcoming community of Animas high school made me care about school instead of blowing it off as something that is stupid and doesn't matter. It wasn’t just Humanities that made me a student it was the community of Animas.
